Studies show that humans communicate 93% through their body language. This is where the importance of body language comes into play for getting a job you appeared for.
For a successful interview, there are three key areas you need to focus on.
Body language #1 Posture
Keeping in the mind the importance of body language first thing you need is to maintain a good posture during the interview. You should sit relax and slightly lean forward. Leaning forward towards the interviewer helps you to establish an impression that you are interested in the conversation. If you lean back this will give an impression that you are casual and too relaxed.
Body language #2 Eye Contact
The second key area is to have positive eye contact with the interviewer. You need to maintain eye contact during your conversations, especially when you are speaking or answering the questions. Maintaining eye contact while answering the questions also gives the impression that you are confident and authentic.
To look more authentic you need to blink at regular intervals. Looking longer than 3 sec will make you look aggressive. Bottom line is that you should blink your eyes and nod your head to stay in the conversation.
Pitch & Tone
Third and last key area is your pitch and tone of your voice. To speak in a clear voice, take a sip of lukewarm or normal water before entering the room.
To speak in a clear and controlled manner and to look confident you need to prepare for your interview.
